Description

The very short church of Saint Sampson (Agios Sampsountos, the hotelier, who practiced medicine without accepting payment) is in Emporio's Kentoukla area, almost hidden, as it does not stand out from afar. We can find it if we start at the beginning of the road that crosses the ridge of Gavrilos Hill and turn right onto the first dirt road (after 100 meters). This dirt road ends in Vlychada after 2,200 meters, but we will turn left at the first narrow dirt road, in 150-200 meters. (Watch for it carefully, because it does not stand out well.) Then, after a few meters, we will see the church of Saint Sampson right in front of us. In Greece, there are seven churches dedicated to Saint Sampson, and two of them are located in Santorini. (The second one is located in Pyrgos Kallistis.)
