Description

The women's monastery (or convent) of Saint George (Moni Agiou Georgiou) is a single-aisled basilica located in the Emporio area, between Perissa and Exomitis. From 1735 to 1830 it was a convent (women's monastery). After the catastrophic earthquake of 1956, it was renovated in 1970. Today, after conservation and restoration, the church has new cells and auxiliary spaces. Since 2005, it has served as a women's retreat.
