Description

After our disembarkation in Nea Kameni and following the guides' safety instructions, we begin our tour of the volcanic island, making our first stop at the crater of Mikri Kameni, as it is called, meaning "Small Burned" (while the island's name means "New Burned"). The crater is located near the top of the dome of Mikri Kameni, on the older part of Nea Kameni, which was created in 1570. Below and to the west we can see the lava from the 1925-26 eruption.
